Public School involvement music education in California decline by 50% between the years 1999 and 2000 the school was hit hardest by this trend were low income and low-performing schools the real irony in the situation is that even as we focus on reading Studies have shown that students who participate in quality Arts programs perform better academically than students without an art education search has also shown that a solid Arts education help since become more confident collaborative and creative however restoring the Arts and knowing low performing schools is not just about test course it's about equity and student access 86% of our students are social economically disadvantaged and many of our students show desire to participate in the Arts and Music unfortunately our families don't have resources to purchase arts equipment and supplies to making it difficult for our talented students to thrive and the Arts our mission Valencia is to focus on 21st century learning skills by integrating technology art and music Wheels joke I motivate our students to become Global Citizens  reproduce Scholars and ultimately we want to create contributing artists in Ark we want to help soon unveil the Kenner artistic talents  it is the Arts that takes the abstract and makes it real this is what we strive to do in Valencia
