College Readiness and the Common Core Standards: A Roadmap to Student Success
As our school shifts to implement the new Common Core standards, parents and guardians will play a crucial role in ensuring student success.
An essential first step on the path toward preparing our students for higher education, is helping our parents clearly understand the new standards, how they will impact instruction and affect how our children are learning.
Please plan to attend our first parent workshop of the year to learn more about the Common Core Standards and other helpful tips to help your child become successful in school and prepare for college and beyond. This workshop is scheduled for October 17, 2013, from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. in the Valencia Elementary School cafeteria. Childcare will be provided for all students who attend Valencia.
